![]() ![]() As a Sindel user I’m tempted to make Skarlet my secondary character. You can follow up that combo by doing other attacks after the dash. Here’s another easy combo that can do 33% damage: Basically you’re cancelling your normal attack into a special attack.Īlternatively, here’s the notation using MK9 style buttons thanks to this nifty website: The “~” signifies that you’re doing a 2in1. If you see something like “db2” that just means you press down, back, back punch (or triangle if you’re using default controls on the PS3). The letter “b” stands for pressing back on the directional pad or stick. If you see the letter “j” that just means it’s a jumping attack. Front punch is 1, back punch is 2, front kick is 3, back kick is 4. The notations are merely abbreviations of actions. If that doesn’t make any sense to you, don’t worry, it’s actually not as complicated as it looks. For instance, you can do the following combo for 41% damage: ![]() Most of Skarlet’s day one combos seem relatively easy to do and deal a good amount of damage. You’ll find yourself using this move quite frequently during juggles. The dash is a very useful tool because you can cancel many of your normal attacks into it, leading to new combo possibilities. The dash can be turned into a slide for a quick low attack or you can use it to do a fast Up Slash or Down Slash. It’s difficult to properly test this on my own since MK9’s practice mode is missing some basic functionality. Her teleport is pretty fast and it seems like some characters will have a difficult time punishing the move on block. It can be done on the ground, in the air, and you can cancel it off normal attacks. ![]() Like many characters, Skarlet has a teleport attack. It seems like it could be a useful tool in some situations. Her enhanced air projectile actually throws three daggers in three different directions. Her air projectile can be thrown straight across the screen or at downward angle to hit opponents from a close range. This will make her a little less predictable from full screen. You can even delay the second dagger from being thrown by holding the button down. Her standing projectile throws two daggers at the opponent. So MK11 can't be cited on account of updates for say, Cassie or Frost.I immediately noticed that Skarlet has a bit of a zoning game. Remember, just newcomers who were made playable in a specific entry, not counting redos for veterans. I will include guests in the newcomer count(s) as well. And for the purposes of this poll/thread, I'm counting newcomers as when they were first made playable in a fighting game, so Armageddon gets four choices instead of two to give it a fighting chance. You all are gonna have to choose the bundle of new faces you like the most or hate the least. I know a sweep when I see one and the poll only has room for seven choices. We're looking at all most of the mainline entries post- Mortal Kombat Trilogy, from the last days of Tobias' tenure to the time-bending Mortal Kombat 11. ![]() Now let's do something with newcomers whose receptions run a wider gamut. All of those batches of newcomers are largely liked! Hey, I got inspired by this thread about Street Fighter newcomers introduced post- SFII. ![]()
